Hi Everyone,
My partner and I are having a baby in the not-to-distant future.
I currently pay CMS for my two daughters with my ex-wife of around £680 per month as they only stay with me every other weekend and 1/2 the school holidays.
I logged a change with the CMS last month stating that my partner's son lives with me (which he has done for over a year but I've never claimed on it). I logged this as we are having a baby very soon and would need to register this birth also.
The problem is my partner's son doesn't have a child benefit number, and when we spoke with the child benefit team they said they don't do that and its logged under the mother's NI code. When I filed the change the CMS rejected the claim as I didn't provide his NI number (which I didn't think they got until they were 16) or CB number (as the benefits team does not work that way).
In addition to this, we will not be claiming child benefits for the baby as I am over the tax threshold and would have to repay all of it.
What do I need to do to get both my partner's son and the new baby's talent into account of the CMS payment calculations?
Thanks
