Video evidence for final hearing

So, I have my FH end of June and am putting together a statement. I have some video evidence that I'd like to add as it is very relevant but I just don't know how to do it. Has anyone else managed to do this successfully? If anyone has and could talk me through how to do it then I would be very grateful. Thanks all

I have had it done against me.

They used Wetransfer to share the files and otherwise did the same as other forms of evidence. There may be a charge to use Wetransfer to send, it was free to receive.

We transfer is a good option - I've had videos sent to me that way before.

It's free up to 2gb. So if it's just one video and the file size is less than 2gb then it's free (a video should be less than 2gb). It's probably the more professional way to do it. If you attach it to an email, I think it would still have to be uploaded somewhere online first wouldn't it? I think a file would be too large to send direct from a phone to email. I just tested that out with a 1 minute video that is 9.6mb - so quite a small file - and sent it to my email address. It did arrive but it took quite a while. If it's a bigger video it may not attach to an email. Don't try to edit it or shorten it or it could look suspicious. If you do need to upload it somewhere first then something like youtube can look a bit iffy - even though it's an easy option and can be an unlisted video. I'd have a look at the we transfer option. I think then you'd have a link in the email - the court would open the link and download the file (I think).

Ok I just tested that out. I uploaded a 1.5 minute video to We Transfer. You put in the email address you want it to send to plus your own email address. It uploaded and sent, and what was received was an email with the heading xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@email address sent you "Video title name" via WeTransfer. Then in the body of the email it repeats that, along with a message (which you can add when uploading the video). Eg it could say "PLease find attached exhibit d for case no xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx". Then there is a download link so they can download the file.

It would need to be sent separately to the main statement and evidence in that case and you could say in a covering email that exhibit d is a video that would be sent by separate email from WeTransfer.

On the other hand - if you can upload the video direct to an email it's the same thing really. Except it could take a long time for the email to arrive or it might crash and not arrive at all. So if you did upload the video to a court email - I would do that as a separate email to make sure the rest of the statement and evidence gets there. WeTransfer is probably the safer bet to make sure the file arrives.

ill use that, thanks

One way to share this (via a link) and not transferring the file, is to upload it to Google Drive or One Drive or Icloud and use the 'share' function to share a link to the file.

It's not ideal, but it means that any size of file can be shared and you can cut and paste the link to the relevant part of the statement.
