so, after a year, the tide has turned. I pretty much agree with the cafcass and it has largely been implemented as an interim. The ex is completely against it. So we go to a final contested hearing. I'm told that she won't get legal aid as her position isn't supported by any of the reports. The courts have to go with cafcass or explain in detail why they are deviating.

But, I will instruct a direct access barrister , for a full day listed hearing, so, how much should I expect to pay for a full single day hearing for a barrister ?

Hi your case is similar to my sons although somehow she is still getting legal aid for the contested final hearing. His is a 2 day final hearing with a fee of £6000.

No idea, we guess her solicitors have asked legal aid for the funding for final hearing and maybe haven’t said that she is going against carcass recommendations.

just because, asked, doesnt mean granted, you can bring this up in court and ask the legal aid be reviewed. If she is going against cafcass recommendations without firm rationale and good evidence, then legal aid isn't granted.
