Solicitor failing to notify me they are acting for other party. Failing to exchange

Hi, how do I determine whether a solicitor is still representing the other party. I was unaware that the solicitor was representing the other party until the evening before the first hearing (when I received a link to the bundle). I have never received any other correspondence from the solicitor (I thought the other party’s solicitor was duty bound to inform me they are acting on behalf of the other party?). Statements were due to be exchange around 10 days ago, after no contact from the other party’s solicitor I emailed them asking that they agree to exchange - I received no response. I sense that (for the 5th time) the other party is going to submit their statement on the morning of the next hearing or the evening before. If the bundle is submitted before exchange occurs then it will not include my statement. If I send my statement to the other party or other party’s solicitor without receiving the other statement in return then it will (again) be read in advance and responded-to within the other statement the night before (as always happens). What am I to do? Call the solicitor perhaps? Send another email? For all I know a different solicitor has been instructed now, I’m in the dark.

Shall I send a second email but copy in the court this time? My statement was submitted to court on time but I didn’t send a copy to the other party. My barrister said she’ll raise it with the court but I’ve been here before and I know it will make f*** all difference.

Password protect your statement and share that. State you will share the password when you receive their version. Send a non-encrypted version to the court just in time for the deadline with the case number in the email title.

If they don't share anything, then your statement won't be included in their bundle even though they received it - they'll look very silly trying to explain their games to the court then.

OK I’ll do that. And I’ll take a copy of mine with me to court too.
