So I'm currently on the sex offender register for an incident that happened in 2015 when I was 20. At the time I sexually assaulted a woman on a night out by touching her bum, she later reported me and I was arrested, charged and sent off to court. I pleaded guilty and received a 30-week prison sentence.
At the time and to date this is the worst thing I have ever done in my life. I was drunk and unfortunately, it happened and nothing can change that. I'm now a completely different person
My sex offender notification period is from July 2015 to July 2025. I'd like to think I'm just a normal guy. I've been in a relationship with my current partner for 7 years. (Who knows everything) We own our house, have good careers, have a dog, and plan to marry next year.
We were planning on waiting until next year to try for a baby as that is when I'd no longer be on the sex offenders register (Which means that I won't have to visit the police every 12 months to inform them of where I live, work, what car I drive etc (The entire process is extremely intrusive but nothing can be done), the police say I am extremely low risk and they never bother me.
Anyway, we are slightly premature and found out that we are going to have a baby a little earlier than planned! it's due in May 2025 (For which I would still be on the sex offenders register, due to come off in July 2025)
Part of the conditions state that I need to inform the police that I will be having a baby, who will then inform social services. Has anyone ever experienced this? I have read all sorts of horror stories online about social services.
I'm no danger to anyone. This all stems from a drunken bum touch 10 years and that somehow still affects me to this day!
