My ex left 2 years ago after 20 years together. We are not married. Both the kids have stayed with me and she doesn’t have them. She pays half the mortgage but refuse’s maintenance and has forced the house sale now. There is a 12 year age gap between us and she earns a lot more than I do My problem is I cannot get much of a mortgage due to my age and what I’m getting from the house sale really doesn’t get you much. She eventually agreed to let me have more of the share of the house But she is only giving me more if I accept I do not claim maintenance from her. So at the moment I feel I have no choice but to lose our home and move away as I cannot afford the house prices. I don’t think there is much I can do but accept this.
