Wouldn't bother with a solicitor, as for me that was a waste of cash.
Barrister is a good option for court, as means you don't have to stress about speaking in court, or researching the law etc.
In my own experience, I've been 4 times to court, twice with a barrister for first 2 and then did it myself. Decided to save my £££ for final hearing and help writing my final position statement. I didn't lose anything from doing it myself, and actually preferred speaking for myself and getting one over on my ex's barrister in court.
If you have deep pockets then use a barrister. If not then try to save up for a final hearing (3k for one day...).
