Over the course of a few weeks, I took out a few hundred quid at a time from my current account. My thinking was to have some cash in reserve for legal fees, emergencies etc.
When the time came, I'd thought to explain these withdrawals as moving expenses, (moved twice since separating), and celebrating a milestone birthday, as
I knew stbx would see these withdrawals at some point through financial disclosure. With everything I am dealing with at the mo I didn't keep track of how much I'd actually withdrawn in a relatively short period of time.
With the benefit of hindsight, I should have taken the cash out in smaller amounts over a longer period. Anyway, the time has come to explain "unexplained" withdrawals.
Can Anyone suggest other reasons as to how you can account for cash withdrawals, without receipts to prove how it's been spent?
Anyone got any experience of how much attention is paid to unexplained withdrawals in financial settlement hearings?
Thanks.
