Rainy day money

Over the course of a few weeks, I took out a few hundred quid at a time from my current account. My thinking was to have some cash in reserve for legal fees, emergencies etc.
When the time came, I'd thought to explain these withdrawals as moving expenses, (moved twice since separating), and celebrating a milestone birthday, as
I knew stbx would see these withdrawals at some point through financial disclosure. With everything I am dealing with at the mo I didn't keep track of how much I'd actually withdrawn in a relatively short period of time.
With the benefit of hindsight, I should have taken the cash out in smaller amounts over a longer period. Anyway, the time has come to explain "unexplained" withdrawals.

Can Anyone suggest other reasons as to how you can account for cash withdrawals, without receipts to prove how it's been spent?

Anyone got any experience of how much attention is paid to unexplained withdrawals in financial settlement hearings?
Thanks.

Do you have a trustworthy friend whom you can say lent money off you and has paid you back hence having the cash. Cash could also be explained as upfront rent, assuming you renting.

You purchased items on Facebook market place? You’ve been going to market stalls more regularly as they only accept cash

Did you mean you took the cash out for legal fees , emergencies ?
Is this cash then stored elsewhere . If it is then maybe open a savings account and put it in there .

Until the whole process is over, it is advisable to keep cash stored at home away from any official savings, I haven't got to financial order yet but any spare cash I have is been stored away from any accounts

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I've explained most of them through market place type purchases. Presents was another one.
Definitely not going to open any new accounts before financial orders are sorted.
