ISW S7 report advice

Hi all.

Its been agreed that i am allowed an ISW to conduct a S7 report after the judge ruled the CAFCAS report was ultimately flawed. The CAFCAS officer was handed information which no doubt influenced her report and this was information i have never had the opportunity to argue against. Therefore the judge ruled i had been unfairly prejudiced.

My ex wife is classic at projection. She accuses me of all the things she is guilty of. This is, in my opinion, why the CAFCAS S7 report stated something similar to me lacking insight and I must undertake work on myself to understand the consequences of my actions. I denied all the accusations, on the basis they are all lies, yet the CAFCAS officer took them as Gospel and concluded I have no insight. My question is regarding how to approach the ISW S7 interview.

Would it be advisable to show evidence to the ISW that ex wife is a chronic liar, or is this going to direct the ISW to the conclusion the parents are at loggerheads therefore the kids stay with mother? (were not at loggerheads, i am not interested in talking to her or seeing her other than parental duties). Considering the circumstances should I just say that I cant comment about anything other than the welfare of the children, how much we each enjoy our time, how excited they are to see me?

Id be grateful for any other advice regarding how to approach the ISW, especially considering i know ex wife will come out all guns blazing.

Thanks

Dave (not my real name).

Had a S7 report already been filed which was found to be flawed or were you referring to the earlier safeguarding letter? Is the ISW going to carry out a fresh S7 process as a consequence? Hopefully they won't have access to the flawed material.

This wasn't the initial safeguarding letter which actually was quite positive from CAFCAS. The flawed S7 report was filed and seen by the Judge. I am hoping the court order from the most recent DRH will state the ISW is not to see the previous S7. ISW will carry out a fresh S7

This sounds scarily like something written about my partner. But it was social services, not cafcass.

Perhaps its come out of a training manual?
It does make you wonder.
What's worse is when they make these statements when they either a) haven't spoken to the person supposedly lacking insight or b) had a brief chat with them.
I don't like how social workers come to monumental conclusions based of off talking to someone for less than an hour.

I think you want to treat a S7 by an ISW in the same way you would with Cafcass - keep it child focused. Also the ISW may not have seen the previous S7 (highly likely) so will be starting a fresh. Hopefully she would spot lies and posturing. If you have evidence of blatant lies, then you could, at some point of the interview say you're concerned Mrs Ex is making accusations that are actually things she is doing herself and this is an example.
