I think you'll just have to be patient and wait and see. When you have the Cafcass call, you can explain the situation but be careful not to criticise the Mother or be negative about her, because Cafcass tend to be Mother biased and might see you as an alienator if you criticise her. During the call you can ask them if they've spoken to the Mother as well. They usually tell you what the Mother has said if they have spoken to her. So be prepared for the call. Don't react if you hear things that make you feel angry. In many cases Cafcass tell Dad that the Mother has made various accusations and allegations against you. So be prepared to say somehting like "I'm sorry to hear she's saying that because it's not true". Whatever you do, don't retaliate by making accusations back against her.
I think it's likely that Cafcass will think the child should know his Mother and might suggest occasional phone calls or a meet up. That doesn't mean the court will order that though. You'll find out what Cafcass recommend when you get their letter after the phone call. As the first hearing is so soon, and before you've even had Cafcass calls, I'm guessing your ex isn't interested in being involved - but that's just a guess.'
The mantras when dealing with Cafcass are - keep it child focused - not about the ex.
