First child welfare hearing (UK) was last November and was indecisive so another went ahead December 05 without either parent being present. This was also indeicisive. A third hearing took place last week and again nothing could be decided. The main issue is my new shift pattern at work. I work four days on and then four days off and am hoping to see my daughter the four days I am off. The ex-wife is opposing this based on her job on the nursing bank facing cuts and so she will have to get a job in which she won't be able to pick and choose her working pattern. It does make things awkward.
Rather than another hearing a 'round table' has been scheduled for next month. This will be taking place at my solicitor's office which is suprising as I thought it would take place at court. No one from the courts will be there - only myself, the ex, and our solicitors. The idea is that we try to come to a mutual arrangement.
Failing this I believe it will go to mediation which I think is the same sort of idea but with the courts becoming involved.
These things can get pretty complex...
