Health & Personal Insurance Policies

Hi All,

I have a question w/r to Insurance.

A couple of years ago I setup personal insurance policies for myself, as the main earner of the household, to cover Critical illness, Death, Injury etc.
Given I am paying upwards of £100 p/m for these policies and am going through a Divorce, I am looking to cancel these.

I have a mortgage, in the background I am just checking if there were any conditions to have these policies as part of that process.

Is there anything else I should be aware off?

Thanks

I don't think so although I wouldn't swear to know the answer.

Ex and I kept life insurance policy in place which runs out in a few years but that's only 10 quid a month

I would assume you would need the death policy to cover your mortgage, just don't let the ex know as she may plot to cash it in...

Indeed, Form E asks for Insurance policies in place so I assume its a factor when considering your assets and income.

Not quite related but wish to share, i have a health policy a simple one where i can claim back on things like optical, dentistry, injury, convalescence, death maternity etc, when i removed the ex i inquired about leaving my child on there, and was told that to enable my child to stay on the policy and claim there has to be proof there is a 50/50 shared responsibility ie lives with me for 50% of the time.

I had several policies covering different aspects and given the situation it didn't make sense to have them.

I've reduced them to just one covering income protection.
