Good morning,
I’ve been paying child maintenance for over 6 years and never once missed a payment. Last December I started a new post and updated CMS right away to reflect my new income which is £37,843 annually. It took them nearly 7 weeks to sort my payments from £503 a month to £378 and was issued a letter of apology. My income hasn’t changed to date. However, out of the blue this morning I received a ‘text’ saying my payments are increasing to £474 a month as they are saying my gross income is £50,799.21. I have no idea where they have taken this figure but that isn’t what I am earning as I am a Band 6 nurse in Scotland. I was earning that amount back in early 2023 and notified them and that is when my payments went up to £503 a month for the daughter I haven’t seen in 8 years. I’ve just been on the HMRC app and I’ve earned £22,000 since April 24. This is causing me undue stress on what should be a relaxing weekend off. Any advice would be great
