Got "arrested" yesterday

Bizarrely enough, two police officers came knocking on my door yesterday afternoon, saying they had been informed that I might have breached my NMO, but the suspected misdemeanour is from over half a year ago, and since a half year the NMO is long expired! I didn't even need to get to the interview stage at the police station, but the sergeant who dispatched these officers in the first place was being evasive about police liability for harassing me and wasting my time.
Coincidentally, I fairly recently secured some proper child arrangements in court, and while I initially suspected sour grapes foul play from my opposition for yesterday's shenanigans, it turns out this was indeed an allegation made by the other party more than half a year ago and that only now the police are investigating the issue (!?)
Could anyone here perhaps advise on any form of action I can possibly take, to get somebody accountable for this needless harassment and waste of time to the police as well as myself?

Id take it as a win mate. Was the NMO still in place when the alleged incident took place??
It apparently was. It was literally sending short video clips featuring myself saying hello to my children via their school, via an interactive app which as a parent I am completely AUTHORIZED to do.
The problem ultimately lies in the wording of a provision contained the order, which specifies that I must not "harass" my children. I knew straight off upon first receiving the NMO through the post back in 2023 that this was contrived by the other side's solicitors, to try and frustrate my right to child access whichever way they could.
The court simply rubber stamped this, while at the same time maintaining that I have full rights to see and interact with my children (!?) If there was one thing I could have rectified in a hearing from a year and a half ago now, it would have been to insist on removing that term "harass" children from the order, and even though my NMO now is long gone it still inevitably ended up causing me to get harassed by the police just yesterday.
But back then I was still mostly lost and disoriented, I practically had no clue what was even happening or where any of it was leading, to make any real kind of challenge to the situation. I just don't get why the police didn't pursue the alleged breach before last summer when the allegation was actually made, rather than over half a year later when the case has moved on far ahead already...?

personally I would just drop it, you won't do yourself any favours, the police will say it was an honest mistake, but you will just get yourself labelled as an awkward customer, there is simply nothing to gain from it. However , if it happened again, then, after one honest mistake you may have a case to complain further.
so, rise above, move along, dont get dragged into arguments you just dont need and have nothing to gain from.
