Finance Don’t Add Up Since Seperation

Ex and I have joint mortgage and a young son, we are not married. We were not getting on and tried living separate lives within the family home. This did not last long before she falsely accused me on dv and she went to stay at her mothers. I stayed in the house until a few days later when her brother threatened me in the living room, I have his threat recorded on my phone. Feeling unsafe I have now left the house and not been back for 1 week and do not want to return. My ex has broken all communication with me. Have I done the wrong thing by leaving the house temporarily as I am concerned she may return and not allow me back in. Going forward I can’t afford to pay the mortgage and rent and provide for my daughter. If my ex would agree to sell I would be able to manage financially, but I fear she will want the house for them both to live in for the next 15 years with me paying half the mortgage. I want what’s right for my son and am concerned he may think me a looser as I will be financially broke . I assume I can’t get any benefits as I have a mortgage. Any advice is more than appreciated

Hi. It sounds a really stressful situation. I'm a bit confused about how her brother actually got into the house to threaten you. What did he threaten to make you leave? Where are you living at the moment?

Btw did you open another account?

Edit - sorted

@Ash I saw the message it was the same as above.

Can you get a holiday stop period on the mortgage?

He has been living in a spare room as he has issues with his partner and we had to take him in
