Hi, I haven't posted for a while as things were going well, and then the wheels fell off.
Last week my ex-wife and myself discussed over email some confidence/resilience issues call it what you will with our youngest daughter of who we both have parental responsibility however she lives with her mother 75% of the time. The discussion ended where I asked her to investigate possible strategies for our daughter for further discussion and I would do the same. A few days later I am informed by email that my ex-wife has enrolled our daughter in "Play therapy", won't tell me if referred by a GP or health professional, won't give me the name of the Therapist due to confidentiality and will provide updates on our daughters progress when she feels its appropriate.
Now I don't deny that our daughter does need some help in some way however I've been unable to identify anything on the web to the following.
Given the above is my ex-wife obligated to have discussed with me first this therapy before going ahead with it?
Is the therapy or any form of therapy classed as medical intervention?
What are my rights as a father with parental responsibility?
My ex-wife says this is not a medical decision and falls under well being that doesn't require a GP referral. She has also said the decision has been made (just by her) in line with what she believes is in our daughters best interests, just as she would with any other activity or support that fosters her well-being.
Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing or can advise a response. To clarify over the last 3 months the relationship with my ex-wife has gone from being polite and respectful of each other to where she will no longer acknowledge me in front our child.
Thanks in advance and wishing us all the best.
