Every Other W/E & 50% Holidays - How many nights?

Hi Guys,

Finally got my final CAO and I got 50/50 shared cared.

The order states that I can have the children every other weekend (Friday to Sunday) as the ex has moved them 30 miles away and 50% of all school holidays. Thank fully I must collect them from her and she must collect them from me per the order.

I'm sure many have had this arrangement - how many nights a year does that come to for CMS?

I put every other weekend in the CMS website but then when I try and put the additional days the system says this can't exceed 51 days - not sure why.

So every other weekend would be 26 x 2 giving 52 nights.

All the school holidays is 13 weeks right. So 13 x7x.5 is approx 45 nights.

I'm guessing there could be a little bit of overlap between your weekends and school holidays

I think you're looking at 1 to 2 nights a week?

Which is a pain as if I've calculated correctly you're just short of 2 to 3 nights a week

Yes agreed if Sunday night also.

I interpreted as dropping back Sunday.

There are 13 weeks when children are on holiday (half term weeks x3, Christmas 2 weeks, Easter 2 weeks, Summer 6 weeks) and 39 when they are not so you need to do two separate calculations.

2 nights EOW is (39*2)/2 = 39 nights per year.

Then half holidays is (13*7)/2 = 45.5 and rounded up is 46.

That makes a total of 85 nights a year.

I would recommend EOW being 3 nights rather than 2 if you can though (Friday night to Monday morning).
