drawing up the final order

so far, the ex has had a barrister throughout the family court proceedings, who has written up the orders and they have clearly been biased in favour of the ex. I have the final hearing looming and clearly I don't want the ex's barrister to play games and write up the CAO in such a way as it is useless. So other than employ a barrister myself, what are the other options?

One piece of advice somebody here gave to me was to request to the Judge in court that the order is sent to me as LIP for agreement before it was sent to the Judge for sealing.

I had a few email exchanges with the mothers barrister because deets were included that weren't discussed in court.

This was high quality advice.

You could also enquire in advance if the hearing will be minuted so as to get a copy immediately after.

I think it does help to have a barrister at a final hearing - to get the best order possible and to ensure it's written up reliably with no loopholes. A badly written final order can mean a return to court shortly afterwards. Solicitors for ex's can try all sorts - I wouldn't rely on them being told to send you a copy for approval - if they did they might still submit the order for sealing within a couple of hours of sending it to you or be extremely obstructive. It's quite hard to get a draft order changed.
