You can refer to case law in a statement briefly if you want to, if you are represented your counsel will write a note in your behalf and can refer to it as part of their skeleton argument.
With regards to evidence, I do not think you can submit anything with your statement unless you have permission of the court to do so.
You could take things with you if they are key and ask for permission to submit on the day of the hearing if they are essential. Other wise you would need to wait until a Final hearing.
