Direct Access Barristers London (Final Hearing)

Hi Guys,

Anyone know any good direct access barristers in London for a final hearing in London? Will be a 1 day hearing.

I've searched my self on direct access barristers site and so far and got quotes ranging from £1500 to £1800.

Mkenzie friend has quoted me £950 to draft my position statement and also attend the hearing.

My only experience of a mckenzie friend was the ex being represented by one. I wouldn't recommend a mckenzie friend based on that even if they were free!

Do not use a McKenzie get a barrister, I have been through this, mine was a total grifter.....

That is very good value for a London barrister. The best quote I had was £5k for a one day final hearing.

Going by my experience and what I have heard second hand, £3k plus VAT is cheap for a full day hearing. I have not come across good reports from anybody who spent less than that.

£1500-£1800 is in the range people have paid for 3hrs or less.

£950 for a draft and company on the day seems steep. They cannot represent you and a barrister may not be comfortable having a McKenzie come along. Generally, the advice on McKenzie friends is to exercise extreme caution. They are unregulated and not accredited.

In short, a good barrister is what you need.
