Definition of half terms

Is there a clear definition of half term that is generally recognised? My view is that it is Fri -> following Mon; Her view is that it is Mon->Fri bounded by two term time weekends.

Our court order sets out as follows:
- Term time weekends as being from end of school.
- Holidays are divided in equal blocks and, by implication, holiday weekends included in those blocks;
- Half terms are with one parent and alternate (i.e. spring with one and summer with the other, and vice versa the next year). These are defined under the section labelled holidays in the court order.

My understanding is that the court order was drafted alternating the full half-term so the parents had the option of a decent half-term break. However, the intent by which it was written does not hold any sway!

That's a tricky one

My order is whoever has the weekend at the start of the half term has them until 12pm on the Wednesday. It's a solid deal with no grey area.

I'd actually go with the mother on this one. So if you have the weekend at the beginning then you would have them until the Friday of half term when the mothers weekend would start. You'd then not have a significant break of weekend time when it isn't your half term.
