Counselling

Like many on here, my ex falsely alleged abuse to receive legal aid and also counselling from the local organisation funded by the county council.
The court has ordered an ISW to assist with me bonding with my 19 month old daughter and the ISW has suggested to me I self refer myself to the same organisation as my ex for counselling.
I feel the ISW can see I am the one who has suffered the abuse, not my ex. There is ongoing evidence my ex is abusive, controlling and only interested in herself, always mud slinging.
If I did self refer to the same organisation would this not be a conflict of interest (or similar), or do any of you think this would be beneficial?
I am also worried if I do have counselling I may emotionally and mentally fall apart .
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Oh mate I'm feeling you. I paid for a bit of counselling over the 18 months.

A therapy service should be totally impartial they'll not be giving you advice and generally they stay quiet and listen. Events between you and wife are not their interest, you are.

If you are raw and ready to let the emotions out a controlled environment like this should work.

But then it also relies on the therapist being decent.

A good therapist will be beneficial.
