I thought CMS was based on income/salary only? Before you sign up to CMS, might be worth finding out if any inheritance you come into at a later date has to be declared and payments recalculated.
Once CMS get their claws into you, you'll find it very difficult to get them off your back. Have you totally exhausted a voluntary arrangement with your ex? Everyone's circumstances are different, but I regret not exploring voluntary payments more vigorously before stbx set the CMS rottweilers onto me.
Voluntary payments have not been discussed yet, first letter is due out this week. as stated im not paying the household bills & CMS i cant afford it, yes i will pay the mortgage but i will not pay for services i have no use of.Before you sign up to CMS, might be worth finding out if any inheritance you come into at a later date has to be declared and payments recalculated.

The point is it’s going to be me raising the CMS, I want to pay for my son, that’s why I’ve asked the question can I initiate CMS or does it have to be the exBe careful with CMS because after your ex speaks to them they might decide to do back payments and say you owe ex money from last tax year. I think you need all finances in order first and proof of all the payments you've already paid in good order.
