CMS & Supervised Visits Variation

Hi guys,

Has anyone successfully obtained a variation to their CMS payments using the cost of supervised visits? I know that the cost of seeing your children is taken as a valid cost but if you’re paying to go to a contact centre then do they subtract this amount £ for £ from CMS?

I don't think they allow for the cost of supervised visits. It's always worth phoning them and asking though. What would be more usual is if the court ordered both parents shared the cost of the supervised visits. That way it's effectively reducing the CM.

Very good question. I never even thought of it when I was paying to see my son for 2 hours every fortnight in a contact center. It was just another cost in a painfully long process full of costs. I'd be very interested to know what the answer from the CMS was. If it's a no, how is that justified. (Cue government BS).
