Cafcass section 7 report

Hey all,

Just looking for some advice about an upcoming section 7 report that the court has ordered for child care arrangements.

To give a bit of background info.

  • Wife relocated without consent 3 hours away with two young children (2yrs and 1 month) at the time
  • Claimed domestic abuse, particularly emotional
  • Initial contact extremely restrictive and incrementally increased
  • Contact opened up when I applied to the court with Friday-Sunday contact for my 2-year-old and 4 hours for my younger one.
  • A C1A form was submitted with a range of allegations (including serious allegations) against me and also allegations against my parents.
  • Her solicitor then wrote into the court following receipt of the safeguarding letter to say that they didn’t feel it necessary for the court to do a fact-finding hearing on the allegations they submitted because of cost
  • Safeguarding letter said that there were no safeguarding concerns against me for contact with the children. The allegations of domestic abuse and angry behaviour would need further investigation and advised a section 7 report
  • Judge agreed at the initial hearing that a fact-finding hearing isn't necessary and ordered a section 7 report.
I feel that they may be trying to avoid shared travel and restrict the children coming back to visit me, given the allegations made against me and also my parents who live in the same county.

Any particular advice on the section 7 report with regards to the above? Most grateful in advance.

Also, any advice on contact arrangements to apply for?
