you're alcohol use 6 months ago is irrelevant in family court. What they want to know is are you safe with children now, not 6 months ago.Depends when my FHDRA is scheduled. Still haven't got a date. But 2 months sober now. Am hoping will have enough time to do a 3 month. But am worried that they might ask for a 6 month.
@Yorkdad what/how was the crap about booze thrown at you and was it just the ex or did Cafcass chime in too?I've been through this, it is not possible to segment hair for alcohol as hair is coated base to tip from sweat metabolites.
Your two months clear will be a zero peth test so do that now. Perhaps do another covering 5 weeks before FHDRA and hand in with your position statement.
Worked well in my case. They were not interested in historic (ex wanted a year covered) and after DRA stated 3 months peth test until final hearing half cost. I have 6 zero peth test results by then.
I had a gatekeeping which is a bit different as in no parties present, basically like a triage as to where it's seen and what needs done...much the same as a FHDRA really. Based on nature of allegations S7 was recommended in Cafcass letter. That was mid Aug and had the DRA few weeks back. It took 14 weeks to do S7 report from it being ordered at Gatekeeping/FHDRA.
She sent me a private child arrangements plan asking for breathalysers and a hari strand test every month! Which is mental. So I opened court proceedings via C100 as she refused to attend mediation. You're doing all you can mate.
If you don't have a date for the hearing stay clear of the booze and feel really proud of yourself.
What makes you think they will insist on a test?

I've been providing breathalyser test for over a year now, never failed one or not sent one to her. She's going to push for hair strand tests as she thinks I'm abusing alcohol in the days in-between when I have my son. So are you saying the courts won't be interested in that?you're alcohol use 6 months ago is irrelevant in family court. What they want to know is are you safe with children now, not 6 months ago.
