3 Months pay slips and bank account info

Hi,

Does anyone know why a solicitor would ask me to provide 3 months of payslips and 3 months of my bank account activity?

I entered into this agrement with the solicitor and it was an "all in" price that covered it all. I am wondering why they now need this info?

thankyou.

Maybe they want to check you can afford to pay their bills? I would ask them directly - send an email along the lines of

"Thank you for your communication and request to see 3 months of my payslips and 3 months of my bank account activity. Please could you advise the purpose of requesting this information? Thank you"

It can sometimes be regularities for things like AML checks etc.

But agreed with Ash probably more to make sure there's a steady income and not a load of debt etc

Thanks all. Solicitor initially came in with a package price for the whole matter.
Now its going to court I'm wondering if it is going to cost more.

It's not the opposing solicitors responsibility to complete any due diligence checks on you such as AML, this is purely a data gathering exercise in my opinion to test/challenge your affordability and would only ask if it was advantageous. Could they suspect you're hiding or have lied about anything?

Just phone them up and ask them. They don’t usually charge if it’s a phonecall about invoicing etc

I've got nothing to hide.
Used up all my remaining money on solicitors so now broke. Hoping they arent going to ask for more.
