Hi All,

It is important to take time to reflect on where we are, as Individuals & Society.

When you look through the forum, you will see that from it's inception, it has helped to support Children across the UK that have been let down by Society & Government.

Our antiquated legal system, where reform is far too slow, has encouraged a large minority of parents to take advantage of the many gaps to cause detrimental harm to Children.

It is clear from Academic research that both parents fully involved in a child's upbringing provides for well balanced Adults who are able to contribute & benefit society but special interest voices continue to shout from the rooftops with their own agenda's.

Thankfully there are strong voices that continue to stand firm, both within the system & also from the outside - Dad's with Kids (DWK) is one of these ,a community of parents & partners who have given their time & energy to support those at the beginning of their journey's by providing a lighthouse in the darkness.

The members of DWK do it, not because there is a personal gain but because they care about building a society where children can continue to retain their innocence & experience a childhood of enrichment because as well all know, when you enter Society as an adult, it is tough & we need strong & stable personalities, families & communities to support us.

In November 2022 this forum was at 500 members:

In September 2023, 10m later, it was 1000 members:

In April 2024, only 7m later, it now stands at 1500 members, a testament to the strength of this community but specifically to @Ash who has worked tirelessly to support EVERY SINGLE MEMBER

For those of us who have come out the other side, @Ash we give you our thanks, on behalf of our Children whose lives you have touched & benefited for the better - they may never know but we will never forget. 🫶 🙏

Very kind words Magic :) But I can't take all the credit. There are some long standing members who have given their time and experience for a long time as well. Proud Dad, Roblox, Stay Strong and Scotay have been here a while. Also Resolute, Stay Strong, Kyle and many others and more recent members. (Richie, Winger and yourself!).

Dads helping other Dads is the way to go. Helping us negotiate through this system. Which is not helpful for children (or Dads) and yes archaic.

10 months more, another 1068 members.

Credit to Dads With Kids (especially Ash) for continuing to grow faster. It feels like we could become a force to be reckoned with. Family Law is the putrid underbelly of our society, a world of pain and injustice that cannot show its face. One day this Forum will be an archive, a way of remembering how barbaric things used to be.

I take my hat off to you all, for the dedication you keep finding. Both to your beloved and to eachother.

In some ways I hope this forum will be around forever - even if I have to will it to someone! In other ways, I hope that things change for the better so there isn't a need for a place like this - or not to the degree we need it now anyway.

Things do go in cycles so we can hope. Things were very bad for Dads pre 2012. Then they got better - more and more 50/50 orders, a change in judicial attitude, widespread acknowledgement from Cafcass and the media about parental alienation. Then they got worse again. During the pandemic and all its many delays - and various womens groups going public with anti alienation stuff and pushing back. Their aim of course is to return things to pre 2012 - when Mothers automatically had sole residency, could "stop contact" and play God, and Fathers had to prove themselves just to get a "contact order". It's time for the cycle to change again and things improve again.

At least hearings seem to be quicker these days. There are Dads getting 50/50 orders. But it's still tough.
